The GR-174 grains are harvested by hand and 20 kg capacity boxes are used to transport them to the winery. After being selected, the grapes are destemmed and lightly squeezed before starting a maceration process at 10º of temperature. Fermentation lasts between two and three weeks depending on the type of grape. Subsequently, a bleeding process is carried out and the must from GR-174 is transferred to French oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. In these same containers, GR-174 ages for approximately five months, although the aging period may vary depending on the vintage. GR-174 is the name of an itinerary that crosses the Priorat region from end to end. This wine, which comes from different parcels in the region, could not find a name that better symbolizes its way of being.
GR-174 has a very vivid color in the glass, a brilliant ruby color, and although it has enough acidity to evolve for several years, it is fantastic now, very friendly and with a velvety texture. On the nose it offers floral notes but above all a lot of ripe fruit, with a very refreshing minty touch, and it has volume on the palate; it is very juicy, fatty, with a pleasant sweetness from that ripe, deep and intense fruit. In short, a beautiful journey through that landscape to which we alluded at the beginning: dusty roads surrounded by rockrose, thyme, lavenders ... that will perfume us as we walk in a warm and dry environment during the day, cool at night. When you finish the last drop, it will leave you with a sensation similar to that of having picked some bunches in the same vineyard. Fruit and landscape. Two experiences that we advise you not to miss in any of the seasons of the year.
